Next Artificial what?

It’s all about AI today. Two words — “Artifical” and “Intelligence”.
Intelligence is something like an eel, you cannot really grab it. There are a lot of definitions around, but no real description of what it finally means. Consciousness is not included, obviously.

There will be some steps to get “real” AI, and we are still on the way. What do we miss if we think about artificial intelligence from its semantic point of view?

There is no Creativity
Consciousness is not even defined very well
No dedicated opinion
Only repetitions and bullet points
No background information
No ambiguity

Intelligence is twofold: It may mean “Investigation” and it may mean “Intelligence”. If we look at ChatGPT it is the first one I think. So is it “Artificial Investigations”?

That is not what you expect if you want “AI” but this is what you get. Only probabilities of words, sentences and some more elements which form the response. Investigated from content filled into a model. Not very inspiring for me.

What else? “Artificial”. This means something is not natural. Ok, artificial things are made by all of us. Does it contain a kind of art? May be. The source of this art is knowledge about something.

Let’s take biology for instance: Knowledge in biology has been increasing massively over the last years. The steepest progress was made in genomics. We will be able to use our knowledge about the DNA in a new way. This may or will lead to Artificial Biology. AB — not known yet — but it is appearing at the horizon. Artificial life, first viruses, then cells and finally animals. And then humans. Also Neuralink is on a good way in this direction.

Believe it or not, it will happen anyway — too many people are not interested in ethics.

Next? OK, my guess would be AG for Artifical Gravity. Physics is developing a new concept for the atomic model. This will be usable for AG sooner or later.

What Artificals do you think will show up in the future? Wildcard? A * ?
